چکیده
S t u d y s e l e c t i o n Studies in any language were selected if they were randomized controlled trials that compared interferon with placebo or no treatment; examined patients with acute HCV infection; and included ≥ 1 of normalization of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) activity at the end of treatment (biochemical end treatment response [ETR]), sustained ALT normalization at the end of follow-up (biochemical sustained response [SR]), disappearance of serum HCV RNA by polymerase chain reaction assay at the end of treatment (virologic ETR), or disappearance of serum HCV RNA at the end of follow-up (virologic SR). Studies were excluded if patients had had liver transplantation or were coinfected with the hepatitis B virus or HIV.

EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF COMBINATION THERAPY OF INTERFERON-ALPHA 2B PLUS RIBAVIRIN FOR CHRONIC HEPATITIS C
Introduction: The aim of this study is to assess the therapeutic efficacy and safety of a particular brand of IFN alpha (PDferon B®) in combination with ribavirin (RlBA) on Iranian patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC). The addition of RIBA to the standard treatment with interferon (IFN) alpha led to an improvement in sustained virologic response (SVR) from less than 20% with IFN monother...
متن کاملTreatment of Hepatitis C Virus Infection and Associated Vascular Complications: A Literature Review
Interferon (IFN)-based therapy, the cornerstone for treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, is generally considered to be the single most effective treatment strategy for this infection. Although most adverse effects of IFN therapy respond very well to the cessation of this drug, there are reports of serious irreversible adverse effects. This review article evaluates the adverse effects...

Background and Aims: Iron oxide nanoparticles are among the most effective tools which can replace current medical techniques for diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. Hepatitis C infection is one of the main health problems in the world, affecting around 3% of the world's population. This infection can develop into liver cirrhosis and liver cancer over the time in 80% of patients. In t...

BACKGROUND Multiple treatments are available for chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. PURPOSE To compare benefits and harms of antiviral regimens for chronic HCV infection in treatment-naive adults. DATA SOURCES English-language literature from MEDLINE (1947 to August 2012), the Cochrane Library Database, Embase, Scopus, PsychINFO, and clinical trial registries. STUDY SELECTION Rand...
متن کامل[Treatment of hepatitis C virus infection].
Undetectable hepatitis C virus (HCV)-specific RNA in serum six months after the end of treatment is the primary aim of antiviral therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis C. Long-term studies confirmed that viral eradication is durable in more than 95% of cases. The high chronification rate of acute hepatitis C (50 to 80%) justifies therapeutic strategies to prevent a chronic course of the inf...
